Mission: Students will achieve by learning through the arts.

SDSA, a choice school located in Selbyville, Delaware, is part of the Indian River School District and a magnet school for the arts. We serve students in grades 1 through 8 with a population of 405. This year, our school earned the Delaware Chamber of Commerce’s prestigious award – Superstars in Education – for our magnet program. We were only one of eight recipients in the entire state!

Here, students must wear uniforms and follow the school choice academic and behavioral contract. In return, students are exposed to a full range of opportunities in both the arts and academics. We encourage you to visit our school profile to learn even more about the great experiences that we have to offer.

This year, our school-wide theme is the 20th Century! Each grade level has selected a decade of study. Through the arts, students will gain understanding of the cultural, artistic, and historical significance of this time period and will present their findings. They will serve as teachers to the rest of the student body. The arts classes will span the entire century from a world view approach. Again, the year will culminate in our most successful World’s Fair where parents, students, community, and staff come together to celebrate SDSA’s integrated theme.
